In March 2024, the doors of SJ Campus officially opened to Surbana Jurong’s partners, clients, and fellow industry peers. This 4-hour opening ceremony was graced by then Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Mr Lawrence Wong.

As a global urban infrastructure and managed services consulting firm with over 70 years of experience, Surbana Jurong (SJ) created a biophilic development and living showcase of the group’s smart and sustainable solutions for a better future – SJ Campus. This sprawling headquarters embodies a new philosophy of work that seeks to serve its member companies with thoughtful features and a direct connection with nature. ALIVE’s task was to carry through this message in every touchpoint of the official opening ceremony, complementing and weaving the playful art style of the key visual into the natural architecture and creating an experience that was both engaging and impressive.

With less than 8 effective weeks to plan and produce this opening ceremony, the ALIVE team had to pull out all the stops. We worked closely with SJ to understand the new philosophy, help visualise it, and enhance the way in which the event carried this messaging through. Every aspect was carefully curated, from the guest’s first look into the impressive spine of the campus to the reveal of one of the large indoor gardens.

We worked with a variety of partners who embodied the same sustainable values within their business. From a farm-to-table dining concept for morning and afternoon receptions to a local performance troupe that created drums out of upcycled materials provided by SJ themselves, every detail was carefully thought through.

Creatively, our team stretched themselves to develop inspiring ways to showcase and highlight the vibrancy of this green campus with event collateral and carefully curated horticulture. Additionally, we worked closely with our partners to produce a drone flyover video that’s unlike any other to capture the energy and spirit of SJ within their new home.

Altogether, this event wow-ed more than 500 guests, leaving a lasting impression of SJ and the group’s commitment to real impact, made together.
