ALIVE puts people at the heart of Changi Airport Avatar Experience

Every year at Changi Airport, Terminal 3 is transformed into a theatrical adventure wonderland with activities, games, photo opportunities, and incredible themed spectacles for visitors to enjoy during the run-up to Christmas. Having provided Brand Ambassadors and event crew to run the festive activities in the past, Changi Airport Group (CAG) appointed ALIVE again in 2022 to ensure things ran seamlessly for the 53 consecutive live days of “A World of Fantasy” campaign.

In support of the movie blockbuster Avatar: The Way of Water, CAG’s amazing production team at Q’s Advertising built an enormous “Marui Pod” centrepiece complete with a snow show and a dazzling light & sound show, as well as a “Mangrove Adventure Park” which offered families and children the chance to try their hand at archery or making a jellyfish from art & craft supplies. Experiences were redeemed through the iChangi PlayPass app and tracked daily by our dedicated pool of 67 professional A-List Brand Ambassadors.

Working in a public environment such as an airport where tensions often run high amongst customers, our A-List team had to be ready for anything. Each member of the team underwent extensive orientation and customer service training including role plays and situational crisis management, allowing them to feel confident and capable during long shifts at the airport. Our full-time Event Manager was on-site every day to manage the 10+ staff each shift, giving CAG piece of mind that each and every customer would enjoy a memorable positive experience.

And the results spoke for themselves! In 53 days, our team facilitated 1,755 archery experiences, 1,575 jellyfish workshops, almost 17,000 photo opportunities at the Marui Pod, and 3,730 interactions with our roving performers. The media launch attended by Singapore’s Minister of Transport, Mr S Iswaran, many members of the press and various KOLs went off without a hitch, providing the perfect platform from which to launch the main campaign.
